In this blog we are pleased to welcome our first UK Managing Director, Malcolm Seagrave, inside hedgehog lab! As he settles into his new role, we wanted to take the opportunity to learn more about him and his interests.

On September 10th, you were announced as our new UK MD, could you tell us a bit about yourself and your career before you joined hedgehog lab?
I started my career as a Chartered Accountant before the lure of tech, which led me to Technology Director roles at Vodafone and Morrisons before I got the bug for digital consultancy scale-ups. This included scaling up both BJSS and AND Digital from 150 people to 1,500…we are now off again with hedgehog lab.
What made you want to join hedgehog lab?
The reputation of hedgehog lab for consistently delivering quality for nearly two decades but also the values at the core, which have always stood out to me.
How would you describe your leadership style in 3 words?
- Servant, I am here to help all our stakeholders meet their goals, whether our people, our customers, or our partners.
- Positive, I always believe there is a way.
- Empowering, I want to encourage risk-taking and learning – being in tech so plays to this.
What do you enjoy the most about working in tech/digital?
The constant change and the impact it brings…each year it seems to ramp up.
What is your favourite piece of technology and why?
My reMarkable tab…I am obsessed with it! …and should be on commission!
What brings you happiness? What does your ideal weekend look like?
Going to the football with my family watching my beloved Nottingham Forest. But I also love those quiet moments walking my dog.
Any fun facts about yourself?
I once gave Michael Owen the run around with two goals and an assist…a Fantasy Football haul!
