We’re thrilled to reveal that one of our very own hedgehogs is up for a major HR award in recognition for her hard work and dedication in helping to establish hedgehog lab’s burgeoning People and Experience department.

Our People and Experience Co-Ordinator‚ Rhiannon Davies‚ has been nominated for the Rising Star Award at the Employee Benefits Awards 2019 alongside four other nominees drawn from organisations including the NHS‚ Npower and the University of Lincoln.

The awards‚ now in their 17th year‚ are a major event in the HR and employee benefits calendar and serve to recognise innovative initiatives and celebrate pioneers working within the industry.

Rhiannon’s nomination comes less than a year after she helped to spearhead the creation of our now four-strong People and Experience team which aims to put employee wellbeing and company culture at the heart of hedgehog lab’s business strategy.

Since then she has spearheaded a slew of well-received initiatives that have helped to maintain the new team’s momentum as it continues to enact genuine positive change across the wider business.

Following her nomination‚ Zoe Wheeler‚ hedgehog lab’s Head of People‚ commented: “To see Rhi’s name alongside leaders from big name businesses‚ with years of experience in engagement strategy is absolutely incredible – but not surprising.

“Not only does she educate herself on the theory‚ Rhi embodies what it means to be a leader; courage‚ honesty‚ vulnerability‚ authenticity and an inspiring vision.

“She is self-taught in a relatively new field of expertise‚ modest in her accomplishments and has been the single biggest change agent in the culture of the lab. I am so proud to see her being recognised for all that she has led‚ and am stoked to be working alongside her to support that vision as we continue to grow.”

Taking place at The Tower of London on Friday 7th June‚ Rhiannon will go up against Bethany Ridgewell of Npower; Dani Colvin Laws of The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Lucy Orchiston of EuroCarParts and Rosie Damarell of the University of Lincoln.

Good luck Rhi!
